Fellow Role-players,
Over the last 10 years I have played with first-class gorean role-players as well as dreadful ones. I have benefited from both types. However, I have never benefited from playing with role-players who are immature, in search of drama and who cling to long-standing grudges.
Vicious gossip, harassment, destructive behavior and using IC thoughts to vent OOC anger will not be tolerated by this group.
Three years ago, I came to Turia with a vision of what gorean role-playing could be if given the attention it deserved. Guidelines were essential to achieve that vision.
The Turian group established the guidelines that are outlined below. If this is not the type of guidelines you can accept we ask that you search for a better match to your role-playing style.
I wish you good role-playing whether you stay in Turia or move to another city.
The Player of Kane Orchis
It is understood that we all have a life outside Gor, however too many players come to a city, take an important position, a mate and/or slaves and then never play.
Stopping by to talk in a Turian RP room for 5 minutes or just lurking in the room does not equate to quality participation.
If you cannot give a minimum of two days/evenings per week to Turia, and/or don't keep in contact with our group, you will be first removed from the mail string roster and dropped from the group 6 weeks later. If you do not have the time to devote to your Character , do not take a crucial position. Instead take a position that contributes in a more supporting role.
We are not looking to just have a long roster of players. We are looking for players who actually want to develop their character and a realistic SL in Turia. We believe in quality over quantity. We have no qualms at all about rejecting 10 potential members and accepting only one, if only that one meets our standards.
If someone petitioning for citizenship is seen as causing problems, or generally just does not get along with others, they will not be accepted.
Turia is about playing the routine daily lives of Goreans and not just about wars, killing or attacking other cities. If that is what you are looking for we suggest you go to Port Kar or Treve.

Age
To participate in role play in Turia, a mun must be 18 years old or older no exceptions. AOLGor is an adult gaming forum. If you are not 18 yrs old you will be banned from Turia.
Mun Consent Mun consent is given automatically when actively participating in IC roleplay in a Turian room. This includes collaring but it does NOT include rape or furring which is not allowed according to AOL TOS. ANY mun consent gained via OOC threat is invalid. Some people easily create new characters and do not care about their survival. Others have created characters that have rich backgrounds and storylines. We ask that you enter an SL fully aware that it may involves risks. If you are uncomfortable about putting your Character in jeopardy then do not participate in any SL that may result in death.
Abandonment Rules
Abandonment of a slave is said to occurs after 2 weeks of no contact with the Master. The relatives of the Master or the City may claim the abandoned slave. Should the original Master return, he no longer has legal rights to this slave.
Child Character & Animals
No children will be mun-played. NPC children must be well behaved, no bratty behavior and they will be mostly kept in their own homes. NPC children will not roam the city alone.
Wild animals should never be in the city. They would be captured and killed. Animals DO NOT talk. Larl's CAN NOT be tamed, and always revert to the wild within their first 2 yrs of age.
Animals that you find around Turia are not the same as the ones that you would encounter in the jungles of Schendi or in the North.
Slaves
No exotic slaves bred to look like animals will be recognize in Turia. Ferals will be killed on sight. As well as other new varieties of slaves that creeps up on AOL Gor.
Travel
Unrealistic travel times are strongly discouraged. An example of time/distance: Turia to the Sardar Mountains would take several months by wagon. Turia is in the middle of the prairies far from other cities and the Thassa.
Restore/Delete
We no longer accept Restore/Delete characters in Turia. We make exceptions ONLY for slaves Characters but they will not be on the city mail string or on this web site. It is up to their owners to keep them in the loop.
Multiple Characters
Multiple characters played by a single mun in the city of Turia are not allowed on a permanent basis. You will be asked to give up one of your character. Doing this a second time will result in expulsion from the city of all characters involved. If you do not understand this, see Kane Orchis for clarification. **We allow the creation of a second character when it will be a throw away for a raid or something of that nature. We would also allow a character that comes out for special occasions such as an Initiate.
*Only registered Assassins will be recognized in Turia. They must disclose their SL with the Ubar prior to taking action.
Crossing & Other Irritations
OOC/IC crossing and Muns who keeps on solving their IC problems by taking it OOC in IM's or email and creating a nuissance will be warned once before being escorted out of Turia.
Problems usually have solutions if you go directly to the source and not try to circumnavigate the matter at hand.
If you delete your character without role-playing an end to your SL. You will not be welcomed back to the Turia group under another sn.
If you are not in agreement with the way Turia is run, first email Kane Orchis and you will receive an invitation to discuss the matter. Do not vent your OOC frustration to everyone in Turia they can't solve your problem.
JN Books Turia will expand its RP without going "against" JN's books. Our main goal is to create a place where we can be creative, relax ,have fun. However, we are Goreans! Are you Gorean? If you are familiar with every weapon on Gor, you are not Gorean. Weapons are very regional and very few men traveled far from their Homestone.
If you are part Torv, part Taharian with a drop of Red Savage blood, you are not Gorean. People did not usually have contact with other cities. Turians however, were one of the few people who did travel far from Turia after the city was burned by the Tuchuks.
If you are low caste and throwing around silver and gold coins, you are not Gorean. Goreans did not have unlimited supply of money.
If you are a Free Woman who has multiple births with every pregnancy you are not Gorean.
If you are a Low Caste Free Woman who has more guards than a Ubara...you are not Gorean.
If you treat everyone as your best friend after meeting them once, you are not Gorean. Goreans did not trust strangers easily.
If you change caste without a very good reason, you are not Gorean. Being of a caste is a lifestyle.
If you are a slaver who never collars a slave, a baker who doesn't bake, a scribe who can't spell, a builder who doesn't build, a warrior who doesn't fight or a Physician who doesn't heal...you are not Gorean.
Ho was a cry used in a charge by a man of the Tahari, not as a greeting of men from the North. Aii was a term used as a show of fear, by a man of the Tahari. Jira, jiru, etc. are words made up by online players.
If your character claims to be from a certain part of Gor take the time to research that region in order to have a background story that holds up.
Creating your character should be given a good deal of thought. The caste you select for your character will often control your actions and destiny.
Pay attention to what is being posted in the role playing room. Your fellow role-players are waiting for you to respond to their posting. If you do not pay attention you will soon find that other people avoid interacting with your character.
Respect the Role play Environment. You are in a Gorean City, not a AOL chat room.
What makes role playing fun and interesting to read is awesome descriptions and dialog. Playing side by side with people that have strong RP skills is a great way for others to learn.
Caution – As you play, please be on your guard that you are not jumping to conclusions based on knowledge that you as a player may have, but that your character would not have access to yet. The fun of the game is discovering facts through RP. Don't short change yourself or fellow players.
